GHOST HUNTING ON A BUDGET
Powder can be used on floors.
If you believe an entity is roaming the house you could spread some powder on the floor (hard floors only, unless you want your significant other to kill you)
you may be able to catch some footprints.

A flashlight.
A must have for finding your way around in the dark and for checking notes or evidence.

Pencil and notebook.
Always take notes during your investigation, before, during and afterwards. It will also come in handy if you plan on reviewing EVP's.

A watch.
So you can pinpoint times during your investigation. Note your start and end times during your investigation. Note times on any unusual events during your
investigation.

A compass.
Unfortunately, it is not for finding your way around. A compass can be used as a trigger device. It has been said that an entity can disrupt the magnetic field
and thus cause a compass to act erratically.

Tape can be used for marking objects.
If there have been reports of objects moving then you can mark the objects position by placing tape to mark where the object is. You can then come back
later to see if the object actually moved. Keep in mind that a object can be moved just a few centimeters so remember how the tape was placed (if you have a
camera take pictures of the object before and after the investigation). You could also use chalk or powder to mark objects in the same way as you would use
tape. Tape can also be used to seal doors if you are investigating with friends. Say if you want to set up trigger objects in a certain room then leave. Put a few
pieces of tape on the door to seal it (you could even sign the tape with your signature to authenticate it) to keep out contamination from other investigators.
When you return to the room you and find your trigger objects has moved and the door was still sealed then your evidence will be even more solid!

A ball.
I like to call this a trigger object. You basically just set it on a flat surface and try to coax the entity into moving it. This is good if you believe you are dealing
with a child spirit. You would want to communicate with the child just as you would if they were alive. Remember they were once human too. Sit down on the
floor and ask them questions that a child would like to hear. Instead of a ball you could use a little toy such as a toy soldier, Basically just be a kid, you may be
surprised by the outcome!

A voice recorder.
You can conduct EVP's with a voice recorder. You don't need a high tech voice recorder, you can use a analog (tape) recorder. Remember that you most
likely won't hear answers to your inquiries as you ask them. But when you review your recordings you may be surprised at what you find! As you review your
session just keep a good ear out for very faint whispers or noises. An entity's voice are almost always very hard to hear.

A camera.
If you feel there is something there with you, take a picture! You can take random pictures too. Just because you may feel there is nothing there doesn't
mean that there isn't. Just shoot, shoot, shoot! Review your pictures and keep a good eye out for mists, orbs (don't rely on these though as most orbs are
just dust specks)
, shadows, weird lights/colors or faint outlines of human figures.

Soft soled shoes.
This is very useful if you are investigating on a hardwood floor. Remember the less noise you make the better!

A friend!
It is always a good idea to investigate with at least one other person. First off for your own safety, second for the friend to be able to acknowledge events that
may happen during your investigation. Evidence is always more trustworthy when you have more than one person experience it!

Patience!!!
Remember, don't go into a investigation thinking you are going to pick up stuff the first time. You may not! It may take many investigations before you get
anything but keep at it. It's not like the shows you see on tv, it is a very slow process, very boring at times.

Have fun!
Let us know if any of this is useful and if you get some results from any of this info. We would like to hear from you!
